Something different

Lofftwen sits in a stunning but hidden part of Wales nestled into the foothills of the Cambrian mountains, the last wilderness of Wales.

We have all the beauty of neighbouring national parks but without the crowds of tourists. We are just over an hour’s drive from the coast of Aberaeron for whale watching, 45 minutes from Brecon, 25 minutes to the dark sky zone of the Elan Valley (although our skies are equally dark), and 10 minutes to Abergwesyn, known as the last wilderness of Wales. But there is no need to get in the car with private access to 320 acres of restoring habitat to explore and many miles of rarely travelled footpaths and bridleways beyond, all bristling with wildlife and stunning views.

Yet despite feeling like you’re in the middle of nowhere, local shops, pubs, train station and an award-winning restaurant are only a 15-minute walk along a grassy track. It’s the best of all worlds.
