2025 was a big year for wildlife at Lofftwen, with the discovery of two critically endangered mammals making it home. Two populations of water voles have been discovered, and pine marten – thought to be almost extinct just a few years ago – have been captured on different trail cameras.

Home made cakes and jams, organic breakfasts, happy guests and lovely reviews - the Coach House is finally open for business, and the hard work has all been worth it.

The Coach House at Lofftwen is opening soon to visitors, providing a luxury bed & breakfast experience in Llanwrtyd Wells set among 3.5 acres of gardens, with another 320 acres of restoring wildlife to explore and miles of rarely trodden public footpaths beyond.

Clearing our tree guards is essential for both aesthetic and environmental reasons, but the costs for doing so are eye watering. A chance meeting during a Brazilian carnival brought a bunch of volunteers to Lofftwen where together we cleared nearly a 5th of the remaining tree guards at Lofftwen.

“The best time to plant trees is twenty years ago, the second best is today”. Inspiration from the Woodland Trust, and the story of how our tree planting is developing into new woodland.

The long and winding road to restoring an ancient Welsh Longhouse contains many challenging bumps, but unearths even more wonderful surprises.

The Lofftwen Longhouse goes live with Canopy & Stars, a carefully curated collection of unique, creative places to stay in the outdoors that give you a genuine experience of a life more wild.

Staffa is the latest pony to join the Eriskay pony stable at Lofftwen, supporting the incredible work of our neighbours Adrian and Alison.

Lofftwen achieves Pasture Champion status for its work on improving biodiveristy from the association Pasture Life.
