2025 was a big year for wildlife at Lofftwen, with the discovery of two critically endangered mammals making it home. Two populations of water voles have been discovered, and pine marten – thought to be almost extinct just a few years ago – have been captured on different trail cameras.

Clearing our tree guards is essential for both aesthetic and environmental reasons, but the costs for doing so are eye watering. A chance meeting during a Brazilian carnival brought a bunch of volunteers to Lofftwen where together we cleared nearly a 5th of the remaining tree guards at Lofftwen.
